Puppy mill busted in Oklahoma. Mom may adopt a yorkie

Here's the conversation with my sister:

SheriGoalie: Mom and Aunt K might both adopt Yorkies.... mom will get a blind one...probably...

JenRarden: why blind??

SheriGoalie: cause the cops busted a puppy mill near Duncan, and many of the puppies went blind b/c the ammonia from the urine that was in their cages from months before. And mom figured since she doesn't have any children in the home except DAD, the puppy could learn its way around the house and not have toys in the way.

JenRarden: awwww, that's great!
JenRarden: Sad, but great. :-)

SheriGoalie: yep. But we'll see. They're evidence in the ct. case against the people right now, so she may not get it for a while.

Since smell is a dog's keenest sense I would say go for it. The dog should be able to live a long and fulfilling life. Plus blind puppies could provide hours of entertainment! ;)

I think it's great that she may adopt one. I've seen/heard about many blind dogs that got along just as well as seeing dogs.

I've posted on the "Puppy Mill" subject before, this is one of my "pet peeves", no pun intended.

That's awesome that your family wants to help out, makes me feel good. Hopefully your family will get a special one! :D
