I have an IBM Celeron 466 laptop. Anyone know how many watts it consumes( no CDROM or floppy running)?
I want to get an inverter for my car and want to size it accordingly for the laptop.
The smallest size laptop inverter should be fine for this application, something in the range of 170 watts.
My Dell 8100 uses 70 watts max and works fine with a 160 watt inverter made by Jensen. I did see 50 watt inverters that probably worked fine, but the 160 was only $10 more. May be able got get your max power rating from your power brick.

Thanks; since I also will be running an external case with a SCSI CDROM and SCSI burner, would you know if it would be close to the 170 watts or not? I believe the SCSI case with power supply is probably right around 100 watts.
