I have not been to the movies in a long time. I decided to go see Blade II at the local stadium theater (4 minutes walking distance). First, I do not know how this place gets away with saying they are a stadium cinema. The only feature that was remotely stadium was the cup holder. Second, the movie was packed with people. Normally this would not be a problem, but about 30 to 40 percent of these people showed up 10 minutes after the movie started. It is annoying when one is trying to watch a movie and you got people standing up in front try to find a seat in the dark. Third, for a horror/action/gore movie there we alot of kids there. I mean 5 to 10 years old. These kids would not be quiet. Normally the kid factor does not come into play, but this was not a Disney movie. Finally, there were 2 open seats next to me. Quess who shows up. Two women and 3 kids between the ages of 2 and 10. The 2 women take the empty seats. The 2 year old sits in one womans lap. That leaves 2 kids standing in front on the 2 women because there is no place left to sit. Great parenting :mad3: After that I just went home and popped open a cold one. After all is said and done, I saw about 30 minutes of the movie. Thank God for DVD. :)

Taking a kid to a violent move shoud be a crime. It's going to give the kids nightmares. Why do parents hate their kids so much?

That's why I'm an advocate of population control.

My ex took my kids to see Joe Dirt "because it was the only movie showing" at a 12 screen theater. Donnie and I was pissed! I told him if he did it again he would have to start providing me with a planned schedule before taking the kids on weekends. I couldn't believe it! I mean, it wasn't a gore movie (They both have seen LOTR and Mummy and Mummy 2 after we saw them first but they really aren't that type of a movie either) they are okay with some of these types. But the jokes in this movie wasn't appropriate for kids under 10.

Can't NO ONE under the age of 6 can be let into a R rated movie, and that is the one thing we stick by I mean if a kid is 16 and wants to see it what do I give a ****, I mean he is gonna see it anyways. But if someone little kid comes out crying because the guy was dying that is not cool. If I was a parent I would'nt want my kids to be crying because I did'nt realize it was gonna be that bloody or overwelming. Some kids just cant take that kind of stuff and we are hoping that some parents will use common sense when bringing there kids to the movies, and think about how it will afect them at a younger age, IE: 7 and below.

Paladin, it's a guide not a rule. And if the parent is with the kid, they are not going to stop them. They might get warned. But they don't have to do anything else. (I did that with music, kid comes over 11 yrs old saying they want a Marilyn Manson CD and mom says okay -- I told parent umm... and they say Oh... then no to the kid)

I feel your pain Bv. We see it all the time here. It's stupid!

Plus, we saw a lot of kids at LOTR in the theater. That is a LONG TIME to make a kid sit still! We saw several fall asleep on their mom or dad's laps.

On a side note, we are picking up a friend of Josh's and taking them to dinner at McD's to play tomorrow night then over to the theater to see Ice Age. :D

Paladin: Chrissy and you live in different states that may have different restrictions on what is ok. Also, is it possible that the various movie theatre chains have different rules?

Just because someone may be wrong about an issue or doesn't know about an issue like you do, does not mean they are lying or trying to annoy you. State your views without the namecalling please.

It was like when I saw so many kids in "Not another teen movie". I was shocked to see such little kids in there. It was definately not appropriate for kids of that age!

On a side note: That movie sucked....I thought it was going to be really funny...but it wasn't. It had it's times...but they were few and far between!

But that's so un-PC. Shouldn't they be able to have as many babies as they want and shouldn't the Gov't pay for each one?

Paladin, take that stick out of your ass and lighten up a bit. I don't understand why your getting so worked up over this. If you have issues with people not listening to you, thats YOUR problem don't lash out at others!

Ok, WAIT a minute now...

Chrissy VERY calmly stated that it is a guide, not a rule. She never once made a rude comment to you or about you. Yet you jumped ALL over her, being a rude *******.

The only reason I posted is to point out that your reaction to her polite post was to be a jerk. For example: Hey Chrissy I am glad that you know the rules of GCC cause I must have been making that **** up huh? Actually your completely friggin wrong,. Hmm, very nice reply...

And more: People have tried to bring young kids into a movie when we damn well know that are not over 6 and we DO NOT LET THEM IN they get their tickets refunded and they go see another show. Even young kids 12 month's and younger the people say "Well they are too young to even know what going on" well being that the kid got in for free anyway HE/SHE IS UNDER 6 YEARS OLD THEY CANNOT GET IN. If you do not believe me I would gladly take a picture of the ushers box where the poster is that say's "NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 6 CAN GET INTO AN R RATED MOVIE" In big bold letters. Ok, so you are an authority of the rules at your movie theater. Great! I'm so happy for you... How in the hell do you know what the rules are where she is? For that matter, the rules where *I* am? I haven't seen ANY poster like that at my theater. And we see children my son's age in R rated movies here all the time. Same way down at my parent's place.

Chrissy did NOT say that at YOUR theater they let kids in all the time. She responded in general terms. If you were more mature, all you would have had to say is, "Chrissy, at MY theater, we don't allow any child under the age of 6 into an R-rated movie." But no.... You then went on to say this: Chrissy PLEASE keep it real and don't lie. Where do you think my sig came from? WORK there are so many compulsive liars there.

Where did she lie?? hahahahaha

As for me...

1) You mean I make myself look like an idiot? That's funny, coming from you... I'll grant you that I should have kept my mouth shut & ignored you like normal. Next time, I plan on doing just that.

2) You want to know what my co-workers think of me? Hey, go ahead and ask them? I value their opinion 300% more than I value yours. Here are their email addresses: Apex ([email protected]) , Leon ([email protected]) , Judy ([email protected]) , GAM ([email protected]) , LPM ([email protected]) ,theorangeone ([email protected]). :heh: Go ahead. Ask them. I dare ya.

3) You said you were tired of Chrissy & me calling people liars without proof, etc. Tell me something. WHEN did EITHER of us call you a liar? Hmm?

4) Why did I post? Because Chrissy is my friend. I feel like you jumped all over her unprovoked and wanted you to know what it felt like.

Lastly, and again, you said several times in all your posts that Chrissy called you a liar. WHERE? Please point that out to me.

Oh, and just so you know, I just talked to my theater office and they said that as long as the children were accompanied by their parent/s, any age can get into the R-rated movies. ;)

Jenny you have yet to answer the questions that I asked, why? because you have NO answer to them, or you have an answer that will make you look stupid.

Jenny, why did you post that? You were obviously trying to start a fight, why? You are to immature as an adult and I hope you will grow up and realize that you started this, you had a post with my name in it and you WERE flaming me, in any of my posts did I mention your name? Did I request your presense here? That's what I thought

Paladin, you are right. I am not an expert on these thing since I have never worked in a theater. But, since I am a mother of two children, I tend to pay attention to these things.

When I said it was a guide not a rule, I meant just that. The rating system is a guide, not a law. It is up to each theater to enforce them. Yes, you are right, it could/should be posted in each usher's box but that does not mean children do not get into these movies.

For reference

And to think I missed all of this while in California the past two days... teaches me to miss out on G|A? :hihi:

When i went to see blade there were a lot of kids there. In particuliar a couple of 8 yr old or younger kids running in and out of the theater. They'd be gone for like 10 minutes and i was thinking if those kids get abducted or anything their parents should go to jail.
I can't imagine why some parents think its alright for their kids to watch whatever they are watching. Proper parenting means some sacrificing. Work some damn OT and pay for a baby sitter. Go watch a disney movie with the kids. Later on rent Blade 2 on DVD when the kids are asleep. I know morallity is dead, but plz give the little ones a chance to make their own decisions later in life. Dont brainwash them during their childhood that violence etc is ok.
Dont take kids to R rated movies, it should be the law.

Kids usually dont pay attention to those movies unless they are Disney or something of that nature.
