Lexmark Z13 deal note

Just an FYI... as with all bubblejet printers (and the Z13 being no exception) the profits are all in the disposable components of the unit (read: the damn ink).

The Z13's ink cartridges are $30 a pop at my local Staples and Office Max. This to me just doesn't make the deal worth it. Unless of course you are crazy enough to buy additional printers just for the ink cartridges... :eek:

that's prolly why most people would buy this printer..
because they already have a inkjet/bublejet that's running out of ink, and instead of buying new ink cartridges...it's cheaper to buy a new printer.

you might wanna check out the 'ink deals' on the deals page that were posted within the past couple of months...pretty decent deals.

I got a free Z13 for something (I can't even remember what, I think it was Earthlink?).

Anyways, the printer never worked. It was not worth what I paid for it.

Is this really that bad a deal. I was thinking about getting one.

It's not a good printer... very inconvenient. There is only ONE ink slot so you have to change out the cartidge to print either b&w or color. Plus the printer comes only with a color cartridge so you'd have to buy the black ink seperately... which would make this more expensive to buy.

Plus without a true black cartridge, I can't see how color print outs would look nice anyway.
