View Full Version : Buying a case...
So I need to buy a new case w/ a power supply. I don't want to spend more than 150, what would you guys buy?

I would buy a chieftec from Newegg. I believe Antec cases and power supplies are just rebadged Chieftec's.

This probably belongs in the hardware forum, but anyway.... Here's a list of things I consider for a case that I buy for my system:
Must haves:
1) Removeable motherboard tray
2) Drive rails for the 5.25" bays
3) Easily opening sides (mine swing out)
4) Good ventilation options
Other nice things to have:
1) Easily removable top panel
2) Removable 3.5" drive racks (enough for at least 4 hard drives)
3) Good finish on the inside so that you don't need armored gloves to reach inside the case without being sliced and diced.
There's probably more things, but that's what comes to my mind. Now, as to what brand, my particular case is an Addtronics.
I vote for Chieftec at newegg as well. Believe they are Antec OEM actually.
The Chieftec I just got is called SX840 when it is branded by Antec. 420W, 4 case fans, lots of room for everything. $70 :-)

Hey, I just bought a new case today myself. I went for a Coolermaster. Real expensive but hey it's really shiney! Monkeys :monkey: like me love shiney. Can't wait until it gets here. Darn ordering stuff online - no instant gratification.
Any opinions on the GMC/Nikao Noblesse case? I've seen a couple good reviews. It has 4 5-1/4's, 7 3.5's & room for dual fans in front and back. Just wondering if anybody actually has one & what you think of it.
