View Full Version : Another 18 hour shift...

Yes, it's that time again. I'm working from 6pm Thursday to noon Friday. well tonight i'll be watching "Life of Brian," "In The Name of the Father," and "The Patriot." I've never seen any of them, but hopefully they, along with the combination of food and 2 good books, will pass the night away quickly....

I can't complain, i get the money that i need and i get to be on G|A all night too...

at a dorm front desk. it's spring break, so i'm just getting paid to sit on my arse, use the net, etc.

Thats pretty funny...Graingerguy is doing the same thing...except he took on other peoples shifts so he has to stay the whole spring break...it blows!! I did my time at the desk already!! Untill next year when they pick the shifts again!!!

so far last Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues I had to work 12 hours in a row. On Wed, Fri and Sun I am also working 12 hours, but it's not all in a row. And today and this Sat I'm only working 6 hours. oh yeah...hardcore baby. :)

do you get "overtime pay" or something like that? i definitely wouldn't mind doing a few of those...play comp games, dvds, chattin online...shoot, it'll be exactly how i'm spending my spring break right now except at the front desk instead of my room.

I chose not to have overtime except for one day. Because the people who shifts I picked up would not have gotten overtime. (Except that one day)

that rocks, i used to work the night shift at the comp labs at pitt...got all my homework done, messed around on the net...ahhh, those were the days...now i'm drunk, fixing oracle problems and i have work in 4 hours...

haha! i'm getting paid to post on G|A? and i just finished watching 2 DVDs. The pay here is crap ($7.50/hr), but when i graduate and get a real job, i know i won't get paid this well to do this little. i'm goign to enjoy it while i can. and hopefully i'll find some deals on my textbooks so at least some of this money can stay with me.

I hear you on that can't read thing....I was reading the Wheel of Time series, and one of the dragonlance books....and I just could read anymore. Around 5600 pages in a total of 2 days is enough.....
