View Full Version : I'm sad, and I'll share why

i've been hesitant to post anything about the Palestinian/Israeli mess because in past discussions, a lot of hurtful things have been said to both sides. I'm sure Burzhui can attest to that too. anyway, people have been saying G|A? has been lacking a bit of depth lately, and i agree, so please allow me to add some of my own depth. let me prefface this by saying: please don't turn this into a political thread blaming/bashing either side. please don't give your opinion of what the solution is. this isn't the thread to do it in.

i'm sad and mourning because in the month of March alone, about 200 Palestinians and 100 Israelis have died. I am Palestinian and this deeply saddens me. i find myself weeping sometimes as i read BBC or watch the news. none of my family gets involved in any of that stuff, they try to stay as far away as possible (they live in Gaza and Ramallah). i'm sad that people are dying in the holiest of lands. i find myself praying daily for both sides, for God to end the killing and have mercy on the leaders who have led poorly on both sides. that is my pain. i think about this stuff everyday. so please feel free to mourn with me in this thread.

again, please don't turn it into a political battle. and when you see the news about people on either side dying, don't just flip past it like it happens everyday, but think of me (who you hardly know anyway) and know that there is a guy in LA who is hurting and mourning at every bit of news.

to the Jewish folks on this forum, i mourn for your people as much as mine. i am sorry that so many are dying.

let's hope not. i refuse to make this into a political thread. this is about mourning the deaths of people regardless of their national affiliation.

thanks Kim. I very much appreciate your prayers.

i feel for the families of those killed for no reason, though this isnt something new to that area.

IMO I think it would be more appropraite to say,
"There will be no peace until everyone, Jews and Arabs a-like, have more love for their childern, than their hate for others."

I understand it isn't your quote, but personally, what I said would end up being more PC and such than what that ambassador said...

ya, its quite a bit more PC, though it would be impossible to stop what goes on there. people dieing for no reason isnt right it doesnt matter what side the death is on.

If you're going to quote someone then make it a quote, by putting the name of the person who said it instead of making it seem like it's coming out of your fecal- filled head.

I hear you Brew and I feel your pain. Keep your chin up.

I will try not to make it political, so I will say nothing, it is just I hope you all pray for my familty all the Jews in Israel who can become a target of a fanatic at any given minute.

Burzhui

i have to side with kenas on this one, i don't want to say anything because it's all been said before, it's been faught out a million times, people are influenced by the biased media, and it is all just pointless.

i think it is sad, too. i mean, we can kind of become detached from it, and not really think about the human implications of all the killing, but there are just hundreds of people being killed. and i think that's sad, whether i agree with one side or the other or neither side.

i hope peace will come someday....

Brew, I can imagine the difficulty you are feeling. In a situation like this it can be easy (for "us", the "outsiders") to take sides, but, as is the case in almost any conflict, there are ones suffering on both sides who don't deserve to be. Your post serves as a reminder of this.
