And the one in Tucson - I've been there a few times.
BTW Hooters has probably the worst food of almost any chain restaraunt, and their breaded chicken wings are gross...
Gee, I wonder why people still go there?

*sigh*
just for *****s and grins, prm and i just went to hooters for the first time... and there were tons of kids in there. i dunno. i felt kinda slimey about that. i mean, it's one thing if all the waitresses are cute and sexy and wearing revealing clothing... fine. but when it's an institutionalized display of tna, it just turns it into something ugly. i'm not sure how to articulate my vague sense of unease about the whole thing any better than that.
adults witnessing institutionalized very-soft-core-pr0n... ok
children witnessing cute sexy flirtatious girls... ok
children witnessing institutionalized very-soft-core-pr0n... erk.
it's like... i dunno. these girls are getting paid to be cute and very nice and fawn all over the patrons... lean in and make sure you see the cleavage as i sit at your table and tell you how amazingly funny you are. good clean fun and not a durned thing wrong with it. i don't have any hangups about "women are not for decoration" and that crap. but the fact that it is somewhat artificial, and contrived, and institutionalized... i just don't want my son to see that quite yet. i don't want that to be even the smallest part of his world view, i don't want that incorporated into his mental database of "types of interpersonal relationships."
and tshirts on kids that are the least bit sexualized... erk.
not that i'm judging you, dopey! there are lots of ways of looking at it, and i'm jsut describing the way i look at it and how it makes me feel. i'm sure you aren't teaching baby dopes to leer at women suggestively and pat their butts because they love it and even if they don't, a big tip fixes it all... :P

I agree with WL on this.
But, I have wanted to capitolize on it too. I worked at Jiffy Lube for a while and thought, gee, we close early (7 pm). And we have a lot of women that come in for service. I started drawing up a new chain that catered to the late crowd that employed muscular eye candy in uniforms.
I don't like the oil business, but I do love food. So I also thought about Dick's A bunch of guys dressed in running shorts with great legs serving lunch :)
I mean, why does it seem we are limited to just the chippendales or girls nights at the boy's club?

I've been to Hooters once. I failed to see what the big attraction was. A few years ago I was on a business trip and we were at the Mall of America in Minneapolis. My coworkers said "let's all go to Hooters for lunch!" It was mainly to see how the "Conservative Christian Guy" would react.
Well, I thought everyone in there was silly for paying twice as much for lunch, only to see waitresses dressed no different than 50% of the other women at the Mall (this was in the middle of summer.)

The waitress had all but started warming his lap when I showed up.

Yeah, that's me.
One of the guys was really bad. We had to travel together quite a bit, and he'd always be trying to get me to go to strip bars and places like that. He'd leave his wedding ring at the motel "just in case". I'm sure he thought if a "nice guy" like me would go, that means it's ok. Then on the way home he'd tell me how he's having marriage problems and he doesn't understand why.

i hate when people do that.
because i don't drink, and don't eat meat, i always run into people who just HAVE to try to get me to follow their behavior patterns. enough already. i make my own choices, i don't really care if you think i really need to eat a hamburger or have a beer "just once" so i know what it's like.
i have friends who will joke with me about it, and that's fine. but when people genuinely think that they need to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do, just so you can be like them and they can feel better about themselves.
come on. we're adults here. let's act like it

I was also thinking about how pop culture supported this.
like why is it that it's always one guy and tons of girls throughout pop culture: Starting from beach boys - two girls for every boy, to now, forget that guy's name, but the song was "a little bit of <female name> on the side, a little bit of"....so on and so forth :puke:
even in TV shows, it's the bachelor or who wants to marry a (male) millionaire.
Our society and even the 'revolutionary' pop culture still buttresses the social norm that it's ok for a guy to have multiple women, while women have to be committed and devoted to the one man.
Now, some may be thinking that there should be a new show - the bachlorette, but imo, society should change so that both should be devoted to the one significant other, instead of the whole 'free sex' junks.

Lou Bega - Mambo #5
One, two, three, four, five
Everybody in the car
So c'mon let's ride
To the liquor store
Around the corner
The boys say they want some gin and juice
But I really don't want a
Beer-bust like I had last week
I must stay deep 'cuz talk is cheap
I like Angela, Pamela, Sandra and Rita
And as I continue you know theyīre gettinī sweeter
So what can I do I really beg you my Lord
To me flirtinī itīs just like a sport
Anything fly itīs all good let me dump it
Please set in the trumpet
A little bit of Monica in my life
A little bit of Erica by my side
A little bit of Rita is all I need
A little bit of Tina is what I see
A little bit of Sandra in the sun
A little bit of Mary all night long
A little bit of Jessica here I am
A little bit of you makes me your man
Jump up and down and move it all around
Shake your head to the sound
Put your hands an the ground
Take one step left and one step right
One to the front and one to the side
Clap your hands once and clap your hands twice
And if it looks like this then you doinī it right
A little bit of Monica in my life
A little bit of Erica by my side
A little bit of Rita is all I need
A little bit of Tina is what I see
A little bit of Sandra in the sun
A little bit of Mary all night long
A little bit of Jessica here I am
A little bit of you makes me your man
I do all to fall in love With a girl like you
You canīt run and you canīt hide
You and me gonna touch the sky
but yeah gigger, i agree with you that in general, it is accepted that men can go out and f*** all they want and it just means they are a stud or are "sowing their wild oats". but if a girl does it, she's a skank, a slut, a whore, impure, to be avoided, etc.
then (and this REALLY pisses me off) there is attitude prevalent in many males that they are going to have sex with as many women as they can, but when they settle down and are ready to get married, they expect to find a virgin to marry. i find this such a sickening attitude -- that it's ok for them to have multiple partners but whoever they marry should have been sitting around waiting for them
