I don't know about any of you but I am really looking forward to this game. Supposed to come out on April 5th, but some walmart stores have been putting it on the shelf early (so I heard). Not near me though :(
But I really enjoyed Diablo and those types of games and have been wanting to play this for a while. Just wanted to know what my fellow G|A people though about it.
PS if you haven't seen it go here:

Yeah i can't wait! The best part its how the world map never has to load. The transition from one area to another is seemless. Which makes for realistic play. It isn't your diablo like Click and Slash. You don't really need to do constant clicking. You can set your guy on auto engage and he attacks automatically. Much like BG2's script features. It also doesn't really use a experience point system. Basically the more you use a certain type of combat or spell, the better you get at it. Very neat. :thumb:

I just got my copy yesterday ...
playing it was we speak .. well .. i just took a break .. making screenshots that i'll put online later on tonight .. (www.worthplaying.com)
but yes ... the world map doesnt need to load (so far it doesnt anyhow) which is a big step up from Diablo2 .. although a lot of clicking is still involved, you DO have to move forward ;) But its not a click fest .. thats for sure ...
the music score is nice .. fits the game perfectly ... but the graphics .. oh man ... VERY sweet ;))) The environments are simply excellent ... the forest almost looks real with excellent colors and light effects ... *licks fingers*
and there is experience ... since the more u do long or melee combat the better you get at it .. i'd call that experience ;) but its pretty nifty .. plenty of nice weapons .. from a kitchen knife to battle bow and heave axes ... body armour, shields and PLENTY of spells ...
Anyhow ... between jedi knight II and Dungeon Siege.. i have no spare time left ...
so i'm outta here

I managed to get a copy of this too.
Dungeon Siege is definitely best action/rpg I've ever played. It kills Diablo it every single aspect. The music and sound...those of you who have 5.1, EAX support, be prepared to be very satisfied. Graphics beats whatever is out there for rpgs and action rpgs by FAR. Multiplayer aspect of this game allows for HOURS AND HOURS of replay value. Really fun playing with 7 friends online.
The problems complains that I have are
1. What's up with the low fps. I have a gf3/p4 1.5 ghz, 512 RAMBUS RAM, 60 gig drive with plenty of extra space, and DSL. I turn on all the eye candy and it areas with lots of enemies the fps can drop to like 9 fps.
2. Is there anyway to export you multiplayer character back to single player campaign. I play on the internet and I level up. It's a shame I can't bring that character back into single player campaign mode. Anyone have any resolutions?
Even with these little annoyance its still the best game of it's genre.

I too used to play diablo ii and im currently playing jedi ii.
Is the online gaming for DS free and do they keep your account on a dedicated server like battle.net or is it on various home servers?
Can players easily hack their accounts like d1 and d2 later?
I'd like to try it out if its better than d2 but i'm also thinking bout getting WC3 and wont have time for both.

1. Framerate is determined more by CPU speed than anything else. Defraging your HD constantly will help too. Since the world is seemless, it is constantly loading from the HD. A lot of people have been saying that EAX being on slow the game down. I'm not 100% sure about that one. Right now I'm running it at 800x600x16 with simple shadows and EAX on. I get around 15-25 fps on a GF2MX/Athlon 1.3ghz 256 sdram and 40 gig HD playing it on DSL. Just tone the game down a bit. You wont be missing that much. The game is still amazing.
2. No way to go from MP to SP. However, you can play the MP version of the SP game. Draw back is that you have to solo the whole map. You can't get the mule and the NPCs.
I've been playing this game for almost a week now and I have to say its just awesome. I'm not a big fan of the EXP system though. I'd rather have predetermined classes and skills that no one else can have. (unless they are of the same class as me). Technically it only has 4 major classes in which you can mix and match or master all. However, being a jack of all trades is a master of none. A person focusing on all melee attacks at level 30 will be far more supperior than a level 30 char with equal skills in all categories. The game's warrior class (or melee attack) sort of makes the other classes obsolete in my opinion.
I highly recommend the game. It's pretty addicting.

Addictive is an understatement. Playing this game made me forget about my crack habit. ;)
