Wait wait..I haven't hearda bout this. If this is true, then the PS2 loses almost all of its appeal to me. I doubt they'd move over to Nintendo again though. They're got FF11 coming out for PS2 soon.

Believe the hype. Nintendo hopes to get FF11 as well. They are for sure porting FF tactics to GBA. All future square releases will likely be multi-system.

Though rumor has it that Sony isn't too happy that Square annouced it will be making Final Fantasy Unlimited for the GC and GBA. Square is not leaving Sony.

Square said they are making the normal Final Fantsy RPG for Sony but they are coming out with other branches for Nintendo and even Microsoft to keep it unique for each unit. So nobody panic yet. Square will still release FF 11 on PS2.

I don't know where you got your news but I'm getting this stuff from IGN, GameSpy, GameSpot, and PlanetNintendo.
