i have a lot of apple computers at home, and one dell 200 mhz computer. i just recently got addicted to counter strike and warcraft 3. warcraft 3 is coming to the macintosh, but couter strike isn't. can my 200mhz dell computer handle it if i get a decent graphics card or what not. or should i go out and get a new computer. i have about 500-600 dollars to spend, i don't need moniter. i have been eyeing the dell deals, but thought i should ask some people if i even need a new copmuter.

you definitely need a new computer..

I'd say trash that 200mhz computer - and take some parts that would be reusable (everything except mobo, chip, graphics - and hd depending on how big your current is).

Then, build one - just buying the parts listed above..
that'll run you bout 300 if you want cheap
- <100 geforce2 gts 64mb
- ~100 mobo (i like mine, epox)
- ~100 athlon XP 1800

if you want a new hard drive....a little more.

I started off playing counter-strike on a 200 Mhz myself. It didn't even have a 3D card in it when I first started playing counter-strike but man I loved playing. I then went and bought a Voodoo3 2000 and put that in. I can tell you counter-strike is certainly PLAYABLE on your 200 mhz. However, I would seriously invest in a new computer if you have 500-600 to spend you can get a pretty awesome computer for that much. Are you comfortable with building your own computer?

Ya, well I guess CS would work if you got a nice Vid card, but War3? haha. One of my systems is a Celeron 300a running @ 450 and it has a Geforce 2 GTs, and it works, but slows down A LOT when there gets to be too many guys on the screen. Now, that Geforce 2 is keeping that system alive, so it helps A LOT to get a good vid card if you want to play games, but you really should get more than a 200 Mhz.

As far as Apples. :heh: Unless you have a new $5000 system, don't think about playing games.
