Actually, this is the new IBM Deskstar 79GXP Travel Mug, designed to accompany their hard drives such that each travel mug has a built-in 8 hour usage limit. After 480 minutes expires on the internal timer built into the base of the unit, a tiny miniature actuator will release 3 tiny doors at the base of the fluid resivoir and your coffee will begin to leak all over the console of your car.

Maxtor is coming out with its own superior DiamondMax Travel Mug that does not have an internal timer but has a tiny heat source to maintain the temperature of your coffee and it's also self-cleaning.

IBM will probably pull the new travel mugs off the market after a flurry of customer complaints and nasty trade magazine articles and then come out with a new and improved model that will work for 10 hours. After which their press release will state that they are the true leaders of the travel mug industry and this is only a minor glitch. They were trying the design the travel mug to "meet customer's actual usage patterns".

This thread is 11 days old. The older a thread, the less likely the deal still works.
