hi,
im looking for a 20-60 gig, 7200 HD for my new build.
There has been a lot of problems with the IBMs and everyone has their own opinions as to whats quiet etc. I need one thats fairly reliable and inexpensive. Does extra cooling help the IBMs? Is there any current sales/place for a good deal now?

im using this set up(supports raid etc)
P4 1.7ghz
via mobo
512 DDR 2100 ram
Visiontek ti200 64mg vid card

ps: im thinking of getting that $25 300wt ATX case at access micro, $17 shipping i think. is that a good deal or should i go to a comp show?

If you can act fast and get the $75 rebate, the 80G Western Digital (http://shop2.outpost.com/product/3006489/) from Outpost isn't too shabby a deal - $200 - 75 + s/h. You have to buy by April 4 or 5 to get the rebate (form available on that page).

i was just at frys and i saw the western digi($200) with the $75 rebate but i didnt see the $139 cuda with the $50 rebate. I will go back after checking the OC ads page and pick that cuda up. Oh yeah, Fry's had some other seagate drive with some other fish name or something, are those drives as good/better or worse than the cuda?

I thought that was a good deal on the Western Digital, but you can pick them up OEM on pricewatch for $102. Even the Retails are $127, so no wait for rebates.
