Onesuite.com has 2.9 cents per minute nation-wide long distance. Excellent customer service and online account management. No hidden fees of any kind except for a 55 cent payphone use surcharge. Up to 4 PINs per account. ZipDial feature automatically recognizes your home or cell phone number, no need to enter PIN each time.

I've been using Onesuite for several months now and can't recommend them strongly enough.

I have also used them for several months and I like them, very clear connection. Minor complaint, it takes a hair too long for them to respond after I dial the 800 number access but I got used to it. Once in a while I get a busy signal when I dial their access number.

Warning - there may be a problem w/ Onesuite. I have been unable to access the 800 # they gave me to use for long-distance. Up until yesterday, it was working w/ no problem. (800-315-9339. This problem had occured with another l.d. carrier just before they tanked.

UPDATE: NO PROBLEM - FOLLOWING RAPID RESPONSE RECEIVED FROM ONESUITE:
Dearest OneSuite.com Customer,

Due to our system upgrade, the set-up of caller-ID blocking on your registered phone might cause the problem. We have converted our toll-free services to a new system. Unfortunately, it doesn't identify the ZipDial number if there is a caller-ID blocking set-up. To enable ZipDial, simply dial *82 first, then dial the toll-free access number (i.e. *82-1-800-315-9339). If you still experience the same problem, please using our secondary toll-free number 1-800-316-5123 to access our system from now on. We truly apologize for all the inconvenience happened to you.

Thank you for using OneSuite.com

Sincerely,

OneSuite.com Customer Service Team

Big fan of onesuite.com! Cheap and good quality service. I've used them for many months now. no problems, except for the seldom busy signal. I just tried the access # and had no problems. Maybe jayrxlaw's problem was regional...

Works fine in Illinois. Has worked fine in Illinois for a long time.

I'm a big OneSuite fan. Only have had one busy signal dialing the 800 number the entire time I've been a customer. The fact that their minimum "recharge" is only $10 is nice, and pre-paying makes controlling the LD expenses much easier. Plus at 2.9 cents, we get to save money or talk longer...

Onesuite is absolutely phenomenal! You can't beat 2.9 cents/minute! In addition, I'm from Sweden and when I call home I only pay 6 cents/minute.
Onesuite should be a sticky but I doubt it ever will be, nor make it to the deals page since onesuite doesn't have a referral program...

yeah, I mentioned this deal once (or twice) in the deals section before.

I had the same problem about not being able to get through; once, then I kept trying to get through, I got a weird recording saying that the number had been changed to some 1-900 number and that I should call that number for like $1.99 a minute, seriously! It was weird and I e-mailed cust. support which told me about the second number and gave the same explanation.

I will definately stay with onesuite as they are a really great company!

Just want to second the favorable reviews of onesuite.com. I've been using them for over a year now, and besides the occasional busy signal on the 800 access number I've been extremenly happy with their domestic and internatinal long distance service. I haven't found another long distance company that can touch their rates!

It looks like the cheapest surcharge you're going to find will be around 35 cents. This is due to an equipment access fee that is charged by the owner of the payphone.

Onesuite's payphone surcharge explanation, borrowed from their website, is included below.

"About the 55˘ surcharge…

FCC regulations allow payphone operators to charge phone companies a fee for using their equipment to place a call. This equipment access fee varies from 29˘ to 34˘ per call, depending on the company operating the phone.

This means that every time a customer dials our 800 number from a payphone, whether they actually complete a call or not, we are charged 29˘ - 34˘. Because we operate on an extremely small margin of profit--it costs us very close to 2.9˘ per minute to carry domestic calls--we in turn have to collect this payphone fee from our customers. In fact, if we did not charge this fee, a payphone call would have to last well over an hour before it would break even, let alone turn a profit.

In addition, when a customer dials our toll-free number from a payphone and hangs up before they enter their PIN, or enters their PIN incorrectly and hangs up before they retry their call, or receives a busy signal, we are still billed for their attempt. Of course, with no completed call to bill we have no way to defray the equipment access fee, and are left holding the handset, if you will.

You may have noticed that other phone companies charge a smaller payphone access fee, usually 35˘. Other phone companies can absorb the losses created by payphone calls that aren't completed because they build a higher margin of profit into their rates. Our extremely low rates mean the only fair, sensible way to recover these losses incurred when offering our service through a payphone is through the payphone fee itself.

Of course this begs the question, Do we profit from the higher fee? The answer is no. Even with this higher fee, we pay more than we recover--just not so much that we lose our shirts."
