These are my own personal finds today. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif
3 Days only!
Comp USA has the 750,000 Corel Gallery software for $29.99 after instant savings, (plus $20 mail-in rebate). I could only find the 380,000 at my OD, but it was $39.99. I imagine their price on the 750,000 would be much higher, making this a very nice pricematch.
Same deal with the National Geographic Trip Planner, PLATINUM EDITION. Comp USA has it for $24.99 after instant savings.
Good all week:
CompUSA has Mech Warrior 3 for $9.99. OD has it for $19.99, making the total $4.49 after pricematch.
Comp USA has Wheel of Fortune software for $9.99. OD has it for $19.99, making the total $4.49 after pricematch.
Best Buy has the Kodak Max disposable camera with flash, 27 exposures, for $5.99. OD has these for $11.99, making the total $2.69 after pricematch!
Best Buy has the PCs for Dummies, Windows98 for Dummies, and Internet for Dummies books for $9.99. OD has these for $15.99, making the total $6.66 after pricematch.
There are several others that I still need to get the OD price on, I'll post those when I get 'em. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif I'm going every Sunday morning to do this from now on. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Almost forgot:
CompUSA has the Maxtor 30.0 GB hard drive for $149.99. OD has this for $189.99, making the total $127.99 after pricematch!
Maggie
Do you know if OD will honor the price of $149.99? This is the price at CompUSA after $50 of instant savings, which is probably seen as a sale, so OD may not honor it. But if so, this would be a very good deal. Maggie, I am sure you have a lot of experience with pricematching so I am sure that you have a better knowledge of exactly the rules and limitations to the pricematching policy. Just thought that this was something that could potentially cause a problem.

In my experience with OD (i got into the imation 8x 50pk cdrs for $9 something) they would honor instant rebates but not mail-in rebates.
Hope this helps http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

They will honor instant savings, but they will not honor coupons that are required to get the savings. For example, Wal-Greens recently had Energizer batteries on sale for $1.99/pack with instant COUPON. You didn't even have to have a coupon to get the deal since they have a stack of ads next to the cash register with the coupons on the front page. OD would not honor that dal because of the coupon. (Well, 1 of the 3 in my area wouldn't.)
But as long as it's instant savings, they'll honor it. Also... they do honor sale prices as long as the competing store has some of that item in stock. I think you mentioned something about them not honoring sale prices.
You should have no problem with that one. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Isnt the 30GB Hard Drive at CompU CompUSA brand? i thought i saw that in the ad....
Actually, I have been told that they don't honor pricematch for sale prices also. First the assistent manager tried to claim that the item I was requesting pricematch on had a rebate, and they don't do rebates, even though the rebate was clearly for a different item - an OD salesman convinced her she was being crazy. That's when she said OD doesn't pricematch sales.
Basically, OD's policy, as far as I can tell, is once an assistent manager or anyone other than a floor sales rep gets involved, you're not getting the pricematch. Period.

As far as sale prices, they will honor them. They will not honor closeouts. Here is the text from their ad.
"We'll beat any price from any local retail store on every product we sell, either at the time of purchase or within the following 14 days. Our low price guarantee pertains to all new, factory sealed products of the same brand and model number that are available and in stock ant any local retail store. Our guarantee does not apply to any one-of-a-kind or other limited-quantity offers, discontinued or close out items, refurbished product, special financing, installation, manufacturer's rebate, or when a bonus or free offer is included in the purchase."
On the Maxtor drive subject, that is a maxtor drive. The ad has the "Comp-USA" part covered and there is no item # other than the Compusa sku number. It looks like a Maxtor box and says "free software with purchase of select compusa or Maxtor drives (mail in offer)"
Unless your Office Depot are jerks, this should work for you. I've never had a problem getting a pricematch on a sale item or anything else, unless I really didn't deserve the pricematch in the first place. (Wal-greens instant coupons)

About a couple of weeks ago, OM offered this pack for $19.99 while OD was selling theirs for $39.99so pricematching that, I ended up with $8.99 plus 8.24% CA sales tax, came to $9.73. Unfortunately, the offer expired a while back.

OD pricematches vary greatly by store.
One thing for sure: They don't do the extra 55% for BB or anything other than Staples, OM or the like.

Shank,
I totally disagree. Maybe yours doesn't, and that sucks... but mine will even pricematch K-Mart with 55%.

OD policies vary depending on what idiot manager is helping you...there was a story of some kids who had the POLICE escort them out of office depot last week for trying to get a pricematch the dumb manager wouldnt honor!!!

I've been reading this board for a while now but this is my first post.
I worked at OD last summer in Business Machines so I know their deal with the pricematch (actually they call it the LPG or the Low Price Guarantee). No matter who's add you bring in they are supposed to give you the 155% if they are a local area retailer with the same exact product. The managers at my store were all very good about this and the other OD's I've been to have been the same. Ofcourse, it's always nice to try to get a cashier who is under 20 or so to do the match because they just don't care and aren't going to bother the manager. If you are lucky you can even get away with pricematching OEM and bare drive products from computer shops if you have a printed ad, but don't take my word on this one, only works with stupid employees.
OM will only pricematch with 155% if you have an ad from CompUSA or Staples. And these guys all know their ****. I think they have daily meetings about it or something at the end of the day cause I've tried to get them to beat stuff from Fry's several times at 2 different stores, knowing they are not supposed to but just trying to see if I can get through to a laid back employee and because OD didn't carry that product.
But like the other guy said, the most important part is not having to deal with a manager beacause they are the ONLY people who care if they made an extra $50 bucks that day because their job depends on it.

i have had luck with office depot pricematching pretty much with everyone. i actually almost always end up dealing with the manager but they NEVER harass me. i have a few spots that even match buy.com ads.
