Well, I finally reached that magic moment. The moment when I realized that after years of upgrading and replacing parts, I had the makings of a whole other computer sitting in my closet. With a $60 investment in a cheepy MoBo and a case I now have a new machine!
Check the specs (but don't laugh):
Athlon Classic 800 MHz on a MicroStar 6191 MoBo
128 MB of Kingston PC133 RAM
8 Gig Maxtor ATA66 HD
Guillemot Cougar VE TNT2 M64 AGP Video Card
Net Gear 10/100 NIC
52X CD-ROM Generic
On board audio.
Not exactly top of the line, but not an underpowered POS either. I think I'll give it to my sister so she can stop using her cruddy 233 MHz eMachine with the whopping 32MB of RAM. The poor girl. :halo:

I just built a PC for my son to use, and all I bought was the motherboard and CPU. I could've just bought a motherboard because I've got an AMD Duron 750 without a home. There's a local computer place that had a motherboard (Biostar M7VKD Pro) and Duron 1GHZ for $109. I already had a case that had an ABIT BH6 motherboard that died recently. I added a Voodoo 4 4500, Soundblaster Live MP3, 6X Toshiba DVD, HP 9100 CDRW, 512MB, and a 13GB hard drive. I'll update the hard drive when I empty one of my bigger drives.
That's the nice thing about have many computers, each one get hand me down components from the computer above it.
