Good news is that my gf said I can get one... Yippee....

Bad news which one...?

Does anyone have one...? What do you think... Is it worth it...

Or should I get a WideScreen HDTV...?

Thanks in advance...

As far as I know, all flat panel TV's are widescreen. Are you talking LCD (up to 30"), or Plasma (up to 60")?

I was thinking about a plasma....

32" or 42"...?

But I heard they only last for about 3 years...

And you have to keep them at the same temp all the time...

So you better not put them over the fireplace...

They last about 50k hours, theoretically. However, they tend to burn in very quickly. You have to watch all 4:3 stuff stretched so that it fits the 16:9 format those TV's are in.

Does the stretching really matter...

Are they really worth the extra cash...?

I have a Widescreen mitsubitchi 55 inch hdtv, and i have to watch stuff in widescreen and i dont mind it. Once you get used to it, it looks funny in 4:3!

They are working on increasing the hours for the plasma tv's. Will take some time though.
