well i finally broke down and bought a memory card for my maestro. i purchased a memorex MMC card...and the damn thing doesn't even see it. i also tried the SD card from my camcorder to the same verdict. is this a common problem with pocketPCs or am i lookin at a hardware problem? if anyone has had similar difficulties with a maestro or a pocketPC, please reply with some advice. i really don't want to resort to audiovox tech support.
also, if anyone knows of a good pda forum, please reply with some linkage.
thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a Maestro too... and I've been really happy with it. But I've only used a compact flash card in it... haven't tried a mmc/sd card. I'd like to pick one up, but just haven't done it yet.
Best forums I've found for the Maestro are at
www.brighthand.com.
Check out the forums for both the Maestro, and for the Toshiba e550 and e570. The Maestro is exactly the same device as the Toshiba, except it has 32MB of ram instead of 64. I don't know if you've noticed, but if you flip the Maestro over, it even says "Toshiba" on the back...

thanks so much for the link, that forum is bangin...well not as bangin as g|a, but then again, what is?
anyway, i know that it's a rebadged toshiba...i was diggin the 570 before it came to the US as the audiovox...it's a GREAT PDA, but man...i just wish my memory slot worked. seems that nobody else has had the problem from some googlin searches and checking out that forum...but hopefully it's an easy fix...we'll see.

I've got an audiovox maestro that i've had for two weeks now. i've had no problems with it recognizing my Toshibe 128 MB SD card and sandisk 64 MB CF card. If the unit is shut off, it sometimes registers the SD card as Storage card 3, which throws off the programs because they're installed on there, but if you just pop it out and then back in, everything's fine. the two cards has definately helped bump up the multimedia capabilities of the maestro.
