I'm working on a site reselling web hosting, and I am really bad at designing webpages. The site i need is only 4 or 5 pages so if you are good at this kind of stuff should only take a couple of hours to do. Basically, this is the proposal: if you design a nice, clean looking site for me, i'll give you free hosting for life for as long as i am running this service, which should be several years, provided I get a customer or two. 100MB space with 1GB transfer is what it would be, but we could negotiate those terms if you would like.

here are some site designs i like (you don't really have to follow these at all, but just thought i'd share)

these sites aren't great, but they are pretty good, and pretty good is what i am after.

http://www.downtownhost.com/
http://www.utopiahosting.com/
http://halfpricehosting.com/
http://www.xism.net/

here is the site I designed, and also that I HATE. It sucks, I know, but i don't really do web design either. http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~as221300/fweb

the features of the site and some text you could use are at that site.

i'm still getting set up with my own domain name, that is why the old site is at such a strange place. i will be ready to go live in another day or two, so sales would begin as soon as you finished the site (preferably within a couple of weeks, though beggars can't be choosers :)

to recap: design site, get free hosting. i don't really know if that is a good deal or not, but it is the best i can do. drop me an email at [email protected] or reply to this if you are at all interested.

Thanks!

Its not a great deal for most of us...you might want to consider paying someone.

a few hours of straight html should run about a 100 or so.

but since your email is .edu you might be able to get one of your classmates to do it for a few six packs

i'm definitely not claiming it as a great deal. perhaps an average deal, maybe not even that since most people probably already have web hosting space somewhere. whatever the case, 2 or 3 years of hosting is probably worth $100, that's all pretty subjective though.
