View Full Version : Nintendo Expecting Record Net Profit
http://www.avault.com/news/displaynews.asp?story=4122002-111219
Japanese video game manufacturer Nintendo lifted its group net profit forecast Thursday for the year ended in March, largely because of a favorable exchange rate. The Kyoto-based company behind the Mario and Pokemon games forecast a group net profit of $841 million, up from its previous estimate in November of a $611 million profit. The yen’s recent weakness increased the value of the Japanese company’s overseas earnings.
Still, Nintendo lowered its group sales outlook for the year to $4.2 billion from $4.4 billion because of a price cut for Game Boy Advance and a delay in software titles going on sale for GameCube. In the year ended March 2001, Nintendo posted a group net profit of $738 million on sales of $3.5 billion.

Nintendo really has tried to change its image with the release of the GameCube. Next month, Resident Evil comes out exclusively on GameCube, which I have been anticipating for a very long time! Also, Eternal Darkness will be out in June, which is another great title I am looking forward to. I currently have 9 GameCube titles, and only 1 of them is Mario/Pokemon/Zelda related. :)

Somebody here has got Super Smash Brothers!
I dont know about the rest of you, but I have been a tad bit annoyed with the lack of games available for the GC. At the time we were deciding between picking up an X-Box or a GC, but since I have always been a nintendo man we went with the cube. So far I have been regretting my brand allegiance, but hopefully the future will be better.
Seriously though what titles do you have?
My list for the Game Cube:
SSX Tricky
Luigi's Mansion
Wave Race:Blue Storm
Super Smash Brothers (although I am going to return it soon)
Madden 2002
Star Wars: Rogue Leader
One other thing though, I do have a PS2 and for a lot of the titles have the PS2 version because either a) it was cheaper or b) it came out before one for the GC (such as 007)

The XBOX, too, has had a lack of titles since it was released. This is to be expected, though, when a console is first introduced. The launch titles are hurried so that there is some base of games available for the system, yet there is still that drought of games after the first two or three months, which was also seen with the PS2.
Titles I own:
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Pikmin
Super Monkey Ball
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Star Wars: Rogue Leader
SSX Tricky
Dave Mirra BMX 2 ($19.99 at Best Buy, well worth it)
NBA Street (super fun)
All-Star Baseball 2003 (awesome baseball simulation game)
