From what I understand, you're only allowed 2 bank deals per year.

Yes, as lame as it may seem, I opened up 5 accounts with Gomez, but for other reasons. First, yes, I did wish to score some free money, had some to invest and found it to be good returns. Some of them offered $50 free with $50-$100 deposit for 90 days, others offered $75 or $100 with $100 investment... which brings me to my second reason not a bad interest rate to double your money or even get a 50% return in 90 days. Third, I have a local bank whose fees seem to be growing and thought that I could try a few others this way to give me an idea of who was the best to have my business. Anyway, according to Gomez, one account per bank can be opened so it is not against their rules. The NetBank one I believe was $50 bonus for $50 deposit checking or savings (I chose savings) for at least 90 days and Bank Direct was $50 bonus for $100 min. checking for 90 days. Both seem to be giving me decent interest rates (more than my local bank) and offer free checks, free ATM transactions, free direct deposit and free on-line Bill Pay. It may be that some of these banks are not valid in your area, or the deals no longer apply, but if you go to Gomez.com and click on Banks, it should show you all the deals, plus info on the Bank and what it offers.

I was thinking about opening up an internet checking account, especially since I am home from school for the summer and hate the fact that both coasts have different banks, policies, and those dumb atm surcharges. Noticed the great (albeit old) deal on the gomez checking account ($75+ free if $100 deposit for three months). Anyone had any good/bad feedback or other suggestions? thanks guys.

My feedback on Gomez.com is both positive and negative. I have opened up 5 accounts with them, 4 checking and 1 savings, and now am trying the credit card deal. I opened the 5 accounts at the end of April. I have received one check from Gomez, and one deposit for another one from them. I have still yet to receive approval or money on the others. Seems that they either are getting slow responses from the banks in question or they are just slower on the big payouts. I have emailed them a couple of times asking why they are not showing approval for the remaining banks only to get a response that it takes 6-8 weeks. Well, it has been more than 6-8 weeks now and I'm considering just being happy with the $100 I have received and not being greedy for the other $275. Anyway, the two that seem to be pretty good, and for which I have gotten paid are NetBank and BankDirect. Good luck!

Dizzy, you opened up five accounts with Gomez? Was it so that you could score $75 free with each account? Maybe they won't allow that, don't know, although it would be worth a gamble. By the way, what are the corresponding deals with Netbank and Bankdirect? I'm actually looking for a solid bank to put my money in, but free incentives sure help! Thanks.

Hi, checked on Gomez and they have at least four banks that still have some kind of cash back offer with min. of around $100. Not a bad idea dizzy, especially if you just have money sitting around, to deposit the min. in each bank and wait for the cash back to come in and then close the accounts. What's this restriction about two bank deals per year though? Who is it enforced by?

Yeah, I've done this too. I've opened a checking, savnings, and credit card account through gomez. I got a $100 for a $100 deposit on my usabancshares account (not bad, huh). The bank's web site is not the greatest in appearance, but your first box of checks are free, they pay very high (for checking accounts) interest on any amount (no min balance), and they reimburse you for I think up to 5 $2 ATM fees per month. I don't know if this offer is still available, but it rocks. I do believe it is gomez.com's rule to only pay sign up bonuses for two bank accounts per year (checking, savings, etc).

you can opend up two (3) accounts with gomez.com's incentives (I think its 3 in a six month period).

By the way, I did 3 of their promotions with www.nationalinterbank.com (http://www.nationalinterbank.com) , www.usabanchsares.com (http://www.usabanchsares.com) , and humm..can't think of the other one.....but anyway, I have about a month and a half to go for the 3 months. They all seem like ok banks as far as fees go. They reimburse your account up to like three times a month for atm fees. One of them does give interest to your account though and that is really stupid (make sure you find out which one) - I'd give ya more info. but am not at home to look the stuff up.
P.s. www.compubank.com (http://www.compubank.com) is giving $20 as a promotion AT THE END OF THE MONTH IN WHICH YOU SIGN UP IN! (if you sign up on the 20th youll get $20 put in on the 30th)

I never knew there was a limit to the number of checking/savings accounts you can open. Oh, WHOOPS. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif Thus far under Gomez within the last 3-5 months, I have opened an etrade account ($150 for $1000 minimum), received checks for $100 and $50 from opening up accounts with USABancShares and NetB@nk respectively, closed my First Internet Bank ($75 for $100) and Bank One ($100 for $100) accounts, and saw on my Bank Caroline statement (which I will be closing soon) the $50 bonus. To reiterate, I have happily received all of these bonuses in a timely (1 week to 3 months) manner.

INEEDAVACATION, you're making me even dizzier... you can open up two (3) accounts with them? I have been approved for 3 accounts, although they show the check has been sent for one, which I received and threw it right back into the account for another month until I close it, another one they have already deposited my bonus in the mentioned account and the third that they have approved (usbancshares - opened 4/27) there is still no info on the $$. I also just did the wingspan credit card and it is showing as a pending deal. Where did you find out the information on the limit of account deals you can take advantage of? Thanks

You can open as many accounts as you like but you are only supposed to get bonuses for up to (3) accounts per 6 month period.- That is what a representative of one of the banks said....it is the bank where you can talk to them online because they have chat capabilities. I will try to post back later after I am at home and have my bank stuff to refer to; that way I can include the web address to the bank that told me about the limit. If anyone gets more bonuses then the 3 they are supposed to be limited to then that's cool. I myself will apply for more banks after 6 months.

Ok, this is what GOMEZ shows for me.... the completed deals (note that they do show 3) and the pending deals (which are adequately filled with $$. I've sent gomez 2 emails asking about the other deals but they keep 'reminding me' that it takes 6-8 weeks. About a month ago I saw a note from someone on here complaining and APEX said that he would get involved. I have decided to wait one more month ( up to the 3 month deadline ) send another note asking where my money is and if they say nothing about the 3 deal max asking APEX to get involved. I mean, I did click through the link here when opening... and nowhere on their site could I find a limit. If they tell me there is one then so be it.
