I am writing a term paper and the places Klalkin Gol, Leningrad, and Moscow are included. It is common grammar to italicize foreign words, and I was wondering if foreign cities count.
Thanks

I would think not...
Half the names of American cities are based on foreign language words, too. We don't italicize them.
You wouldn't italicize a person's name, even if it wasn't a standard "American" name... so I would apply the same rule to a city name, or a country name, and not italicize it.
I'd say leave 'em in normal type...

no, you only usually italicize things that are non-proper nouns denoting things. Places dont usually get that.
