I've never bought from them, but Ashford.com has some nice stuff. They are more expensive, but for plain bands, I dunno.

Yeah, my favorite place (NOT the cheapest!) is Ashford. Their customer service is top notch - maybe the best ecommerce site I've ever dealt with. However, their prices tend to reflect that....

I've never bought from them, but I hear http://www.bluenile.com is also very good.

I'm sure bluenile & ice are very good places -- but my ideal ring was going for $2.5k there. Ummm, no. :|

We've been looking via Seņor Google's web directory search -- lots of different shops & styles. Hope you find something too! :D

(i love the ones that are cut-out, and this one is nice and narrow...)

(maybe too effeminate for the man's ring?)

(6mm might be too wide, but i like it otherwise...)

Personally I like the solid ones better, the cut out ones just look too feminine I guess. But they both do look nice, and I can't even imagine what kind of superpowers they'd give.

I either go to a jeweler I know in the Jewelry District here in Los Angeles or I go to the Jewelry Liquidation Auction they have here every 6 months or so. 99% of the time, I don't pay anything close to retail - on or off-line.

It depends how the ring looks on prm's finger. Go to a B&M jewelry store and try on a few rings that look similar to the one you had in mind.

I was dead-set on this one set, till I saw it on my bf's finger, and it looked really out of place -- too girly to be anywhere near his hand. So I'm gonna get the wedding band I want, and he'll get a plain white gold band. Everybody's happy.

Never understood the concept of a "wedding ring SET." Yes, you're being joined in holy matrimony, becoming one from this day forward, yadda yadda ya, but when you already know it in your hearts, do you really need a small detail like MATCHING rings to prove it?

(Yes, the ring looked THAT awful on his finger.) :P

Hey I thought the jewelry was supposed to carry free shipping

I bought a tupperware set thing for my mom, it was on sale for $25 and minus $25 = just pay shipping ($8). Good stuff.

Well if you want to be really lame and cheesy (my specialty), you could always print out the pics of the rings & put 'em on his finger. Gives you a general idea, and you can blame me for the bout of temporary insanity. :P

Maybe you said that you'd stay away from cutouts, but your post looks like one of your men was keeping you occupied. ;)

/me votes for eg.
