why all the mac bashing?

they're not built for the same purposes x86 pc's are...they're superior graphics/multimedia machines, meant for a particular demographic.

Power PC's are made for art work, even G4's are useful for art work....but iMacs are total crap

most apple enthusiasts hate them as well, they are poorly designed

and they are marketed to do PC tasks...not art

I agree with you CP. The iMacs of old are pieces of crap. I believe I've said it before, if the iMac is on for more than 10 hours then the heat from the CRT monitor sometimes causes all the other components inside the Mac to malfunction. These iMacs are a pain in the ass to troubleshoot.

However I haven't made up my mind about the new ones yet. I have been working on two new iMacs for the last 2 weeks, getting them ready for some users and so far I kinda like them. However I will have to wait 6 months or a year to give my verdict. They are gonna be used to number crunch and do 3-D statistic graphing, so they'll be using that g4 chip quite a bit. We'll see how it fares compared to the crapMac of old.

BTW one thing that is awesome about all the new Mac computers that are coming out, is that if you are using OSX you get 20MB free web storage. So far I have signed up with 4 different Macs, so I have 80 MB of storage out there, soon to be more. Gotta love it :thumb:
