has anyone here used them? i have a friend that used them and she said something about paying like $20 or whatever...and she actually got like $18 back from it. she wrote the thing off as $2 worth of entertainment or whatever. but the thing is, i guess they found money from one of her previous employers or whatever. so i guess it works n stuff...i'm just wondering how well.

From what I've heard, you don't need to pay them to do it, since you can do it yourself. Most states have a searchable list on the web. For example, here's Minnesota's:
http://www.commerce.state.mn.us/pages/UnclaimedMain.htm
Internal Auditor Magazine reported that 25% of US adults have unclaimed money somewhere.
Here's another free site that's nation-wide:

a few things with my name popped up, but none of the addresses seemed to match anywhere where i've lived :( could be places you've done business with too. like credit card companies (there's always a settlement or whatever), banks, that store that argued with you about giving you a full refund without a receipt and you didn't argue because your girlfriend had to go to the bathroom and you seriously thought it would be a quick stop since it was less than $20 so you took the sale price and called it a day although you swore you'd never go back again and you ended up going for lightbulbs because everywhere else was closed and it was raining pretty hard that day, etc.

Nothing under my name. Found $65 for one of my brothers. Found an "undisclosed amount" for the bf. Should I charge a finder's fee? ;)
