is so great, but probably the demise of my midterm grades...
i'm studying at the ucsd library right now, with my laptop that has a built-in wireless card. kinda defeats the purpose cuz i study at the library so i won't have distractions. :P
hooray for technology!

NOTE: geocities is whacked ... so you'll have to copy the link and type it in the address bar. If you click on the link you'll get an error

we were all on dialups in college...geez...that was a long time ago...
Ya, many parts of the UT campus are rigged up with a wireless network. So you can sit on the lawn and do your homework or get online from class. Wireless networks are pretty sweet. My dad is building a new clinic and he's rigging a wireless network in it so he can go from his office to each patients room with his laptop and be connected to the servers. Pretty cool stuff.

The map doesn't show alot though. Alot of library walk, sun god, the quad at revelle, and solis areas are all wireless capable too. I guess it might be jsut feeding off of the internal antennas. But, I think they're gonna do outdoor specific network too.
Woohoo! IR-PS is fully covered. I'm set! (going to IR-PS this fall, most likely)

Just wired??? You young whippersnapper, when I was in college we had to hand crank the modems to get a dial tone! And walk to class in the snow, uphill both ways! In July!

During school I either spend my time surfing the internet using their computers or pulling out my cell phone and turning on wireless internet. Grades?!? What grades??

The Minneapolis airport just started providing wireless net access. You need to rent a PCMCIA card to get on their network, but it's pretty affordable, especially if you're on a lengthy layover.

Either it's a proprietary system, or you need a password, I don't remember. Either way you have to pay.
