Ever read those comics with the little kid with the fro? I read it sometimes and they are usually pretty funny, but as I was entering the library I saw a sign that says "Aaron McGrudder: Presentation room 81 3:00 p.m."

Yup I feel so special cuz the cartoonist is here, in the same building, just a couple of feet away... but really, I don't know my point is cuz I'm not really into him. If it was Bill Waterson though...

man, i would definitely go see aaron mcgrudder speak if i could.

when they first started running boondocks in our college news paper (after the demise of Calvin and Hobbes), i hated it. it made no sense and it seemed really offensive to me. but after i got used to his style, and got a better understanding of what he was trying to do, and what he was trying to say, i loved the cartoon.

it's really funny political and social satire, and yet he makes a lot of really good points in the strips. but since he makes you laugh while he completely challenges your conception of the world, you're a little more open to his viewpoint.

great work, imo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he went to UMCP. My alma mater (Shameless plug of NCAA Maryland Terrapins 2002 championship team) :) .

He started showing up in the Diamondback(the college newspaper) soon after Liberty Meadows left to become syndicated. I read Boondocks everyday alongside Libery Meadows until LB switched and became a comic instead.

Boondocks is a very funny strip. I do miss Calvin & Hobbes, though... :bawl:

well, i didn't know he was going to be there :(

maybe you should start posting a list of all the important people coming to your school so i can tell you whether you need to go touch them or not

:stupid: i mean, c&h is one of those irreplaceable cartoons. boondocks is good, but it's good in a totally different way. c&h was just brilliant

Boondocks is the direction other comics should go. Political satire with witty writing
