1. Arena football. Um, what the hell is this? I turned on the TV, and there was a Sabercats game on. The score was something like 60-55. The QB throws 2 passes and it's already a touchdown.

2. Gift certificates. I have never understood the concept of these. I mean, you don't even save any money when you buy these. You just limit yourself (or whoever you're buying it for) from the places you can use it at.

WHAT A JOKE.

1. I say arena football is a sad version of the real game. The final scores are usually around 100 or so points. I think it takes more than two passes to get a touchdown.
2. Gift certificates is just a mean way of restricting someone to the store you got it from. Why not just give regular money and make everone happy?

What about rebates.... Yeah, they want to wait to give you your money back, while secretly hoping that you'll forget to turn the dayuum thing in with the required attachments.

Personally... I think rebates suck. They take too long to process and basically they take extra money out of your pocket...Many times, the reason rebates take so long is because companies invest or loan that money to other people to make a profit, after which the give it back to you. Basically, you are giving a company a loan with which they make a profit, except they don't pay you back with interest!

Gift certificates are sometimes good when they are for a business that the person might not normally shop from. Of course you are limiting the person's choices, but many times if you can share an interest or a hobby with someone. For instance, buying someone a gift certificate to REI might cause them to purchase some outdoor gear, which would cause them to go camping or fishing or whatever, and if they end up loving it, then you will have succeeded in giving so much more than a simple monetary gift that the person would probalby end up blowing anyways.

But I would prefer the money myself.

I think someone's dad invented the gift certificate.

I had nearly $8k worth of Amazon gift certificates. Although I didn't pay anything for them, I was glad to use em.

BTW, in California, by law, gift certificates cannot expire and must be able to be exchanged for their face value. I guess that's to make up for our housing costs. :P

Somebody needs to tell the "Corporate Idiots" that squeezin' the folks that "bring their own access" is not a cool idea... especially since they really don't NEED to stay with AOL... but just choose to do so.

You can read up more on this on my site...

well df, i'd bounce too...aol sucks...

being a former time inc. employee who was somewhat happy with his job...regular comsumers only get to see one side of the AOL monster. seems that ever since i became an employee of THEM, my quality of life between the hours of 9am and 6pm has been steadily decreasing...

but they are paying for me to become an oracle dba...with no ties to the company once my training is complete

translation

aglio bounces in a few months and makes many many more dollars
