Joe Greensleeves (http://www.redlandsweb.com/directory/restaurants/review15.htm) is a very nice resturant that I have always wanted to go too. The business card deems it simply "The Resturant of Joe Greensleeves American Grill"
http://www.pcparadox.com/images/PICT0324.JPG
Well today I decided I wanted to take my adorable Girlfriend to this great resturant. So I called up and made reservations for 8PM. Went there ordered our food and enjoyed it immensely, it's a very small resturant with quaint decorations and just overly a great feel to it. So we ordered:
1 Appetizer (we shared it)
1 Coke
1 Mineral Water (damn them for not having Cranberry juice)
1 Filet Mignon
1 Filet Medallion
2 Regular Coffees
1 Slice Carrot Cake
1 Slice Latte Cream Pie
Total after tip and tax: $120!!!
Ok well the food really was amazingly good but still $120 was definately not what I was planning on spending on one meal. I was even tempted to try to Dine and Ditch hehe... Well in the long run it's all good, I got to enjoy an excellent meal with my girlfriend and we had a very good time.
Next time though, she's paying :hihi::hihi::hihi:

I wish I could dude. I am going to go beg mommy and daddy for money now that I am broke. I just can't let them find out how I wasted that money... hehehe
120 is not too expensive for a nice restaurant, which I hope this was. I'v been to quite a few in Houston like that. Of course, I ate Taco Bell for the next week :P

Yeah there are many other resturants around here that cost this much and more but I wanted to go to Greesleeves in particular because a couple (or more) years back I read a short article on it in Money Magazine. Since then I've wanted to try it.
Haha, well you read about a restaurant in Money magazine and expect not to pay a lot? :P
Wizard

Oh I knew it was gonna be a lot but I wasn't expecting that much. It's all good the money really isn't that important, its just the surprise I received with the bill was quite large. I've spent more money on more fruitless things...

I guess it must be nice having "disposable income" to that degree... How much was a glass of water in that place?
Glass of water was free, but I just looked at the check and the coke did not come with free refills so that's two glasses of coke. Really though the food was so good I'd say it was worth it.
Groceries... well thankfully my parents cover that.
Did they not have the prices on the menu. I know at Morton's you have to request a menu with prices if u want to know how much your paying. heh. Dinner Check Shock, is abundent :)

I only looked at the prices of the entrees which I didn't consider to extreme (15-30 a plate). I couldn't imagine the prices of the appetizer and others

Wow DF, that is EXACTLY what I was going to say. I could buy groceries for a month with that money. Lol, he better enjoy those expensive meals now, 'cuz they sure thin out when the kids start coming!
I'm glad you had a good time Wizard!

$120.00 for a good meal is worth it, but only once and a while. I hate starving the next week or so until more money comes in. :heh:

wow. i can't get into paying much more than $50-$75 for dinner for 2. i've just found that the food usually isn't that much better to make it worth so much $$.

Hehehe Nolan and Ryan are two brothers. I don't know what their parents were thinking when they named them. But yeah the older one is Ryan and the younger one is Nolan, but for some terribly odd reason people always refer to them as Nolan and Ryan. :hihi::hihi:

Hmmm Eddie Murphy and the guy from that Hear No Evil, See No Evil movie (ok yeah I don't think I got the name right)
Definately the cast looks promising. I'll have to go find it :)

I didn't write his name because eh it doesn't scream out to me like Eddie Murphy does. Also to me he's the guy from that movie.
Me not knowing who he is might have something to do with being a whippersnapper. I am proud I can even type being a whippersnapper. What the hell is a whippersnapper?

BTW, Redd Foxx, Della Reese, Danny Aiello, Arsenio Hall, and Lela Rochon (in the role of "Sunshine") are also in the movie as well...
Dude, I'm a younger wipper snapper and I love Richard Pryor. I used to watch all the Richard Pryor movies when I was a kid. I love Stir Crazy. The Toy is pretty darn funny too.

I look at that and I don't think that's too expensive at all (for a good restaurant). You definitely were ordering the more expensive fare so it shouldn't be that suprising.
As for me I once spent $225 on one meal for two, but that included a 6lb lobster among other culinary luxuries.
Was it worth it? Hell yes!

To all of you touting how great Richard Pryor is, that's great. I just must have missed all his movies. I guess I was stuck watching Police Academy back then. Well anyways.
Kevster the meal was excellent and well worth the $120 it cost, $225 is a bit of a stretch though, but someday (hopefully in the near future) I'll have the money to go to places like that.

I dropped 120 on a dinner for two in Vegas at Emeril's New Orleans fish house in Vegas. If anyone goes there trust me, don't get suckered into the "taste everything" deal. About half of it was out of this world, but the other half was medeocre. It was the seven course phrase that hooked me. My date ordered something half its price and was way happier than me. We had some Chesapeke bay oysters while waiting to be seated that were almost worth 120 bucks. I should have had 8 orders of them instead! All in all I was glad I ate there because I got some really good ideas for my own cooking. I just would not order that sampler again.
