I just got the gainward TI4400 Golden Sample (the same as one reviewed by LPMiller (http://www.gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=ti700/index.html)

However, I can't run 3dmark2001 SE to test my new card. The error log has this entry:

Error log
---------

Texture mapping not supported.

Also, when running dxdiag tests, I get this error:

Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)

I just ran Serious Sam 1 and it plays fine (other than issues with NView). I installed the newest nvidia drivers.

Oh and LP, I tried to to the system repair and after WinXP installer boots and loads its drivers, the screen goes blank and/or shows funny lines and colors which I can't get around.

EDIT: Oh this gets better... I tried to run Max Payne, but it says I require a DirectX compatable display adapter.

EDIT EDIT: Links 2001 works...

Help? Please?

uninstall drivers...reinstall old card...uninstall that one and start over. Clean the registry of all video related stuff and reinstall DX8.1

try regedit to clean the registry of all ATi/Matrox/Nvidia junk
