but how well do you live knowing that the best time of your life has already past?

College is supposed to be the best time of my life... if it is, then the rest of my life is definitely not one I'd enjoy.

Seriously, working life isn't that bad at all. For most people, college is an uphill struggle that will put your AP tests to shame. Maybe you're one of the lucky few who will do just fine! :D

AP tests can save you couple hundreds even thousands of dollars in college if you pass them. Don't forget it also save time so you don't have to take those classes in college again.

It's really easy IMO, at least 3.5 years ago. All I did is get a reference for the subject and practice.

hahahaha.

actually, of the last 9 years (4 hs, 3.5 college, 1.5 work), college was the worst. i know it depends on your experience...some people just love college and have a blast. i didn't (i blame living that on living at home with my parents).

anyway, while i'm probably having the most fun now that i'm working, high school was (and i think will remain) the easiest part of my life.

i mean, seriously, in high school, i thought i was working, but not really. i mean, if i showed up to class i was going to get at least a B. show the slightest amount of original thought, and teachers think you're a genius. write a 10-page paper and it's the longest thing anyone in your school has ever seen. do bs homework that isn't even graded and it's worth 50% of your grade. final exams are maybe 10% of your final grade, max. man, life was easy in high school.....not to mention a basic lack of responsibilities.

ok, i'll stop now.

i'm having a blast in college...much better than high school for my experiences...

careful which APs you take. don't overdo them like some of my friends did (10 APs!). for those who are planning to take APs in the next few years, plan out which ones you might want to take, then call up the universities you're planning to apply to, and figure out which ones you can use...cuz there's quite a few that might not contribute to your GEs or major credits.

:stupid: I'm lost in math after Algebra II/Trig...

Anyway, one good thing about APs--I know because my friends had the chance to take them, I never did :( --is that you will get units in college depending on how well you do on the AP exams. My college doesn't allow AP credits to apply toward your major or GE requirements, but I'll tell you, coming in with Jr. standing gives you a lot of room to play. Unlike my friends, I couldn't even drop a class if I didn't like it/wasn't doing well. :(

for the calc exam: remember the square of an integral is not the integral of a square ;)
basically you need to skip all the hard questions and do the easy ones first it will give you confidence and some ideas on the hard ones.

another tip: sometimes its easier to do derivatives using the multiplying method as oppose to the dividing method and vice versa.

on the easier problems double check your answer, no point in losing points on careless mistakes when you know the answer.

other than that, use your head, think logically.

as for the history exam:
you can pretty much use the method of elimination on the multiple choice. if you can get it down to 2 answers, just pick one, if not, don't lose points and just skip it.

in the free response, you dont' have time for fancy words or intros. however if you can state your hypothesis first, it will give the grader an indication of where you're going.
make at least 2 claims and back that up, then at least 1 counter example, then argue that point
in the conclusion, you should state if your argee with your original hypothesis or if you now believe your counter-claim.

another helpful tip:
events in history can be explained in social, economic, and political motives. there's also religious and many more, but for the AP's, you need only to skim the edge when writing up the free response. if you want higher grades, you need to present overwhelming facts OR make VERY good arguements about the few facts you remember. not to insult any history majors or anything, but most explainations are based on speculations based on hard evidence, therfore, use what little you have and make it sound logical.

time is very important on these exams, do the parts that are easy for you first, i can't stress that enough.

with that good luck and happy test taking.:)
