i have been told that the pentium 4 stock fan is one of the more quite fans arround. I replaced my powersupply to an ulta quite version but it still seems like like someting in my computer is loud and I am assuming it is the fan. can anyone help? suggestions?

how many hard drives do you have, also high speed CD-Roms can be loud

2 hard drives IBM 20GB and 8GB

an this noise is when no CDROMS are running.

I wouldn't worry about the sound, I would worry more about heat
