RAID Question

If you have a drive with data on it, then buy an identical drive and add it to the computer, can you then RAID 1 them with that data on it? If not, can something like Partition Magic let it RAID? Thanks.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, I doubt it. I would think that you would have to remove all of your data, format the drives, set up the RAID, and then transfer the data back. :shrug:

Depends on if you want hardware or software RAID. Hardware RAID (using a RAID card) you would almost always have to start from scratch.

Software (through W2K, for example), I believe you could convert an existing disk to part of a RAID set...
