Has anyone purchased or seen a good demo of the new JVC 48"RPTV? It has DVI inputs and only displays a native resolution of 1080i. I am soon going to purchase a HDTV in this size range, The 2 local retailers that have this have a poor display that makes this and competitors from Panasonic, Mitsubishi, and Toshiba all look not worth buying. My concern is that by scaling all inputs to 1080i, it would require the scaler to be of a higher quality than so far is available, in order for 480p from DVD to be as good as a native 480p display. I have not seen any reviews yet for this, but it seems like a good candidate if the scaler is of good enough quality. I had been leaning towards the Mitsubishi WT-46809 because of their upgrade promise. Thank you, Bob Poling

Supposed to be an excellent set, by all accounts, especially for the price. It's already DVI/HDCP enabled too. I too am curious about the scaler, but initial reports say it's pretty good. I think a HTPC is probably the ideal way to run it though.
