Yes, it is only currently compatible with the GSM carriers. However, most of the carriers will be making the move to GSM so it should work with AT&T GPRS, Cingular, Voicestream (T-Mobile), and Powertel.

Trimode dualband CDMA version coming out for VZW in the summer. Dunno if SPCS will approve it. It's a hot property phone.
Through exclusive marketing agreements, Cingular got a few months exclusive access to the Triband V70 GSM/GPRS handset. (Like how VZW got the V60 for themselves). I think it might be a locked handset, so you probably have to be on cingular service to have the phone. If it's unlocked, then you can use it on VS, Cingular GSM/GPRS, or ATT GSM/GPRS network
But, For CDMA carriers, I don't know if VZW will have an exclusive handset carrying clause (in other words, I don't know if VZW will block sprint from having the phone for a while). One thing I know is that they will have it 1xrtt capable.

I doubt that Sprint will even carry the phone. They've been straying away from expensive phones, which is why they never even offered the Motorola v60.
