I was wondering about the heatsinks that come with the retail AMD processors & didnt see any documention about them on the AMD Recommended Thermal Solutions-heatsinks section. Just wondering if the heatsink that came w/ my 1.0 GHZ Duron would work on the Athlon XP 2100+

it might, but the risk is to much to waste your speed on a crap HS/f(lag may occur w/o sufficient cooling.)
Like xsiled said it might work but why risk it? Get a good heatsink like a Thermaltake SK6.

Just thought i was stupid that it says AMD right on the fan ( http://65.119.30.151/productimage/19-104-149-03.JPG ), but theres no documentation on it that i can find at all.
I have a few of these & I'd hate for them to go to waste. Perhaps they're made by a different manufacturer & AMD slaps their sticker on it?
