the main point of the article is to show how easily prices could be raised by withholding supply. its the same as oil and everything else except the company is stating publicly that they will use these measures. good thing samsung is king of memory though.

Memory prices have been dropping for the last few weeks.

Hynix Semiconductor has lo$t a ton of money over the last few years yet its board of directors vetoed the sale of its memory operations to Micron (http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?datePublish=2002/05/01&pages=01&seq=1). So now Hynix trying to raise dram prices by talking with Samsung. Wonderful. :rolleyes:

Yeap it has been dropping lately but I want to wait for couples more weeks before I get another 256MB or 512MB!

well, for $114 I can get a 512Mb stick of PC2700 Samsung memory which is alot better than the $175 it used to be a few weeks ago
