...a high speed car chase...people driving into buildings...people almost getting pinned against said building...a totaled jaguar...police reports.

So, Im at work and theres a problem at a remote location. So i take the bank van, and drive merrily on my way.

Im driving down Richmond Rd. (the top half is one way with two lanes, the rest is two way) which is one way, and out of a side street shoots a Black Jeep Cherokee making a hard right and is heading straight at me. Now Richmond Rd is a faily major road, where people drive between 40-50 even though the limit is prolly 30 there. Fortunatly for me there were no cars parked on my left and we were abel to successfully avoid eachother (people behind me, might not of been as lucky.)

At first I dismissed the SUV, because I was just passing Doctor's Hospital, and i assumed they had an emergency and needed to get there.

So i continue driving along my merry way...at this point Richmond Rd. is two way with two lanes for both sides. Im stopped due to some traffic ahead, when i hear a crash behind me. I look behind me and the black Jeep Cherokee zips past me (about 40-50mph), driving on the wrong side of the road...tries to turn down the side street, slams on his breaks...and crashes into "Ricks lunchenette". Thats where he almost pinned a guy to the store, who was bringing fries out of the freezer in the basement. Also behind me was a nice green jaguar with its front smashed in.

So as he crashed into the store, I read his plate and chanted it while i drove up another side street, so i could write it down and get out. The guy speed off before i could even park the car 30 feet from where i was.

So I goto "Rick's" and apparently Im the only one observant enough to get the plate numbers. So I called the cops and waited there for a bit. Then we got a call that the chase ended about a mile from where we were. So Scott (the guy that almost got pinned to the store) and myself drove to the scene to talk to the cops.

-------------------------------------------------------
Now for the whole story..that I heard from the Detectives...and other witnesses.
-------------------------------------------------------

Apparently the 3 perps in the SUV started out as 3 guys with a U-Haul and rubber gloves robbing the house of a wealthy resturant owner of his safe. The guy comes home, see them with the gloves on..they flee..and he chases em in his jag.

They then ditched the U-Haul, and got in the Black SUV (thats about when they almost hit me the first time). They drove around like maniacs..crashed into the store...fled again and flipped the SUV. The three guys jumped out... out of the 3 1 pulled a knife on someone trying to stop them, and that same one or one of the other two was tavkled whiel trying to escape by a civilian. The other two were caugfht shortly after and identified by witnesses.

So they were smart enough to have a get away car, but apparently they werent smart enough to steal a car to use. The driver of the SUV was the son of the owner of the SUV.

Apparently it was also an inside job, the detectives mentioned how the owner of the house was having problems with his son, and the 3 perps knew the code to unalarm the house.
