Does this convert a EIDE drive to allow use by USB?

as long as you have the hard drive to go in it, and a USB connector on your PC you will be fine ;)
*edit, it may need to plug into the wall for power though

I just remembered, I relly want a usb2 or firewire external enclosure that'll fit my dvd drive. If I can do that i could put my entire computer behind my desk! :) but the problem is that all the one's i've seen are ass ugly. anyone know where i can find those?

I just got one of these. It's the standard USB version for 2.5" laptop drives. $20 enclosure + $30 3.5 gig HDD and bingo, lots of cheap portable storage!
Much better than ZIP or CD-R if you have to transport large file often.
