Where does it say they are in game? I didn't read the whole article but I didn't see it and I did a search through it to try to find where it says it.

I didn't read the article, either, but ther person that gave me the link said they were. It is from E3. That is how the game will look. That is why everyone is saying that it won't run that great on current computers.

easy...id software pays current hardware vendors to give them specs on new concepts for hardware being released later in the year or next year and they intergrate that into their code for the game.
can you say run-on sentence?
By the time Doom III comes out there will be faster and better videocards out.
Its nice to see the envelope being pushed instead of being hobbled by these older systems.
This engine will be used for many games just like Quake 3/Arena engine has been.
Those shots are great. I love looking at screen shots for the newest games. I just wish I always saw that when I was actually playing.

Yes! That is what makes it even more exiting. Many times the games using the Quake or Doom (oldskool) engines are much better than Quake or Doom iteself.

I didn't have to wait in line like everyone else for anywhere
from 1-3 hours to watch the Doom III.
Doom III is, by far, the hottest game at E3 this year.
And another thing... Trent Reznor kicks a$$!!!!!

Here is a video that shows some of the gameplay. The video is mostly about the history of Doom and id, but it is good. 99MB, but the server is fast.
