I am curious on what your system specs are, and what are your primary uses for that system. I am not trying to start a flame war, but a peaceful conversation aboutsystems and how they are used.

VirtualDub + DivX Codec = High quality + Small size

I use my machine to browse this forum :D
I mainly use it to surf for info, rip the good songs in my cds to an mp3 album for my car play, play games, and I'm learning to encode videos for personal video as well as making svcds etc.
Is there anyone with a multi-processor system that does divx or svcd encoding? Is there a good performance boost?

I use this system for watching satellie tv, watching DVDs, burning cds, FTP server, storage, ripping DVDs, playing MP3s, some gaming (for some multiplayer when friends come over).

He uses it for Web browsing, online finances, flash gaming (bejeweled, collapes, etc), watching TV, listening to music.

All of this is hooked togethether with CAT 5 run through the house, 8-port Netgear switch, Netgear Gateway router, Netgear 5-port switch, D-link Print server (Epson Stylus Color 860 hooked to it), and all access the internet through a cable modem from Time Warner.

As for apples, I only use them for nutrition. :D
