IS it better then the pentium 4?

Good for Gaming?

It is better, but not better enough for gaming to justify the extra $. IMHO.

No, not good for gaming (meaning no improvement over P4). The big advantage is a much larger on chip memory cache, which helps speed up extremely processor intesive applications, such as a busy (hundreds of clients) server, or high end graphics station for CAD type applications.
