Anybody ever upgrade your CDRW burner firmware?
I have a 12X Zip CDRW that has a problem burning CD+G discs. I had always assumed that 8X was the fastest that a CD+G disc could be copied.
Well, I went to a site that I had never been to before http://www.mtu.com They seem to recommend CDRWIN for burning these discs. They also state that the Zip CDRW can be used, which amazes me, since it doesn't show up on Goldenhawk's list of acceptable burners. However, it appears the list (under FAQ) has not been updated for a long time.
I think the problem I have with using the Zip CDRW is that the firmware has to be changed to Plextor's firmware. I had seen this technique over a year ago on another site. The site I went to said that changing this firmware could trash the burner if done incorrectly. Anyone think that this is too big a gamble to attempt?
