I bought the new Asus P4S533 m.b. and the Cooler Master atc-201 case that comes with 2 external USB ports on the front of the case. The m.b. supposedly supports external USB add-ons, and comes with 2 extra USB hookups that go into the back of the board.
Here's the problem, though. The board has a USB pin configuration as follows: 1 row of 5 pins and a second row of 4 pins below it. The external USB cables don't exactly fit this configuration. It only has a molex-type connector with 5 holes, not 9 like the rear USB add-on. I've been able to get one of the two front USB ports to work, but not both together. I've tried them on the set of 4 pins, on the set of 5, and one on the 4 with the other above it on the 5.
Needless to say, I'm at my wits end. Furthermore, my secondary IDE port on the board isn't recognizing anything connected to it. I'm not sure if the two problems are related, but I'd be elated if I got both USB ports to work. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks.
