Panasonic CQ-DFX572U
I was thinking about picking it up, but I need to know if it can play 160, 192, 384 MP3's.
(I posted a thread last month about CD-MP3 players...with interesting results)

...Crutchfield is the first place I look for audio information, too.
I may give them a ring...but I got a hunch that they will read off the information they posted on their web site. I was hoping someone had some first-hand info on this player.

I found this review of the player. Actually it's the lower model (Panasonic CQ-DP171U). Most likely the cd-reading hardware is the same.
quote:
"I threw several MP3 files with the full gamut of bitrate options and id3 tagging at it, and it reproduced all of them as flawlessly as the amplifier and the sound environment could allow."

Good article, it describes some issues that may remain in the higher end version.
