Has anyone done this? They ask for your mobile phone number. Do you need to give them the correct one for this to work?
Thanks in advance...

Yeah, what they do is send you the mobile ring tone just like a text message directly to your phone.
Why can't cell phones just sound like.... well, phones?

It downloaded to my AT&T Nokia ok but my Cingular Nokia accepts it as text without converting to sound. Bummer!

There's also a thread in the "Need Deals?" forum with a few more free ringtone providers.

Well it says your phone (http://onlineringtones.com/sprint.html) is supported...but it also suggests going here (http://www.touchpoint.com ) for help.

the best site in my opinion is www.ufone.ca
Yes, you must send your phone number, otherwise it will be sent to the fake number.

I agree with Ribitch! Ufone.ca is the best...most variety, quality, all around the best free service ever!

the only songs i found on these sites were ones which i can program into my phone from many sites around. personally, id rather take the 2 minutes to type it in than give who knows who my phone number.
the only one i can remember off the top of my head is Ringtones4all (http://www.ringtones4all.com)

in my office, I don't think one person does not have a cell... and everyone always gets calls....
so where there are alot of cells around it is nice to know it is your phone with the custom ring ;)

Ditto for this. There are so many Nokia phones out there (most of them seem to be set to the default Nokia tune) that it's nice to know it's your phone going off on a train, in a restaurant, etc.
Sometimes they can be good conversation starters, too. My phone has the "Itchy and Scratchy" theme (from ufone.ca) and yesterday on the train I cracked up the guy sitting next to me.

The page said that it supported my Sprint phone, the TP2100. I tried to download a ringtone, but it sent me this error message instead, "ERROR: Sorry, currently your TP does not support downloading of ringtones". I went to the link for support (www.touchpoint.com) but it's a webpage for on-line printing needs, not the cellphone company. Lol. :P Anyhoo, if any of you get a Sprint Touchpoint to work, please let me know! Thanks!

Thanks! I've been stuck with the Nokia tune for several months now since my old cell phone broke. I got the "Jem & the Holograms" theme song now from from ufone.ca! That place is great! I also downloaded the Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, and Dallas themes! :D Thanks a bunch!

How do you know all these websites don't sell your phone number to marketers who then bombard you with telemarketing?

I just gave up on ring tones....I still can't recognize my own phone. Better off just using the silent alert feature...a surrise every time :naughty:

Cause it's illegal to do telemarketting on a cell phone.
If you ever get a call on your ceel, ask the guy for his name and company, then alert them that it's a cell phone they've called.
your number will get dropped off thier list very quickly...

:duh:
Seriously though. I worry about giving away my number to a website who's (ostensibly) giving away things for "free"

But you'd think the website would last longer than two months.
