im looking for some lcd's for various things. i need at least one for a cctv setup. id also look for a lcd for a small display on my comp for winamp, temp, and misc stuff. i happened to find an ad from earthlcd.com who seemed to have some good prices on refurb and overstock.

im thinking of this (http://www.earthlcd.com/SK2005R.HTM) one for a closed circuit system or a really big :D car setup.

the ones on this page (http://www.earthlcd.com/character.htm) look like they would work for a computer. the samsung 240x320 and the alps 640x240 displays look awesome. both are backlit and have touchscreens. i cant find what type of connection it uses.

this is my first time working with lcd's. anyone know if this will work for me and where i can get some resources or programs to use these?

whoa that's a big LCD you're getting :)

As for the smaller ones you want to put in your computer, I'm not sure how the two you suggested would interface with the comp... and even if they do, you'd probably have to write a program to run them off of whatever connection they use. If you're willing to ditch the touch screen capabilities, you should definitely go with those car LCDs which connects directly to a TV-out plug from your video card. Kinda like the one here: http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_you_need/special/index.html

You can easily take it out of the casing and mod the connectors and buttons. It takes in 12V which can just be pulled easily from your power supply.
