www.nationalinterbank.com

I have been banking here for a long time now and have only good things to say about them. I love having my check direct deposited and any other checks I deposit in my account with them I can mail from my house in their postage paid envelopes. I love, love, love this place and will never go back to my old (no interest, free checking) banks again!

By they way, accounts with this bank ARE FDIC insured.

I'm lookin for free checking, but I noticed that their online billpay is not free unless >$1500 balance. that's a steady state dollar value my checking rarely keeps. paying bills online with bofa for free is great.

there's always a catch 20

I agree their bill pay service which is free if you have a balance over $1500 is not that great (and I am not going to use it because of this high limit) but I have found a lot of good things about this bank.

$200 balance required for free checking/savings.
never wait in a bank line again.
mail deposits from home using their postage paid envelopes.
highest interest rates I could find for both checking and savings accounts.
transfer funds between accts. for free, easily, online
check for daily updates to acct. activity online
etc.

You'll notice that most tradition banks offer free checking but those accounts don't pay any interest. I hate that! For me, this is a great bank.

took a look at the rates in detail. you need to keep $10,000 in checking to get 2.1%

currently I have just under $2,000 in my checking there and have a 1.19% I believe. That's the highest I could find anywhere. My checking only has just above the $200 minimum (for no fees) and I have about 3% for that. That's also the highest I could find anywhere. I have been thinking about opening an account with www.netbank.com because of their bonus for opening an account. Still, I think I would only do that for the bonus and continue to utilize www.nationalinterbank.com as my real bank.
