Well Peeps, it would seem that Mr. Darth is a review posting demon this week. He surprised the hell outta me in getting this second review up so quickly.

Thx Darth!!! :)

Anyhoo, if you have anything to say about this one get to it. I am anxious to get some more feedback from GA readers as my reviews are a fair bit different from those of the other GA guys that you are used to seeing here.

nice review.
i dont understand the 4/5 for performance. it sounds more like a 6/5 for performance. it did everything and more. so what gives?
i like my "old" visiontek ti200 @229/530. this card might be a good replacement when the price comes down.

:stupid: :heh:

That was a really crazy OC...

Are there any other programs available that would allow for a higher overclock?

Heyya Jigglin' :)

As I noted in the explanation of the 4 of 5, I do feel like I have to retain that last point for cards that smack down all comers. Also, I am just getting used to the GA rating system so you may be bang on as far as other GA reviews go. I will be sure to take your comment into consideration with the next review rating I do.

I do however see your point in that for a 4200 this baby is a real mover!!! Please do keep in mind my comments on how results can vary from one card to the next.

Ah gee, yer makin' me blush now.

Just kiddin', thx much for takin' the time to check out my stuff.

And, beware the coming review of X-Micro's iteration of the 128 MB 4200. It will be very interesting to see how the GPU on that one does compared to this one. I will be pitting them against each other in a wee head to head fight. WOOT! Let the games begin!

Nice, budget card round up...

Thanks chosen... but as of yet, I have never owned a Nvidia product... but when I build my next system, I am really thinking of going P4/G4...

I am also doing what I can to get my mitts on a 64 meg 4200 to see what impact the memory configurations have on performance. One would think that the 64s extra bandwidth should make it slightly faster. Of course the lesser memory volume for AA sampling will make some differences too. We shall have to see just what those differences will be though.

I think that sort of comparo review would give the very best view of what is the best deal in the "performance/value" sector. Hopefully this article will happen in the next couple of weeks but I cannot promise anything just yet.

Yeah, I'd also think that with the 4200's OCing ability, the extra memory bandwidth of the 64 meg might not make any difference at all. Of course, many people might not want to have to OC their card...
