I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet! I know there have been Cendyne deals like crazy at OM, Staples, and other places recently, but this has been the best one.

$79.99 - $40 rebate - $15 Staples (competitor's) coupon = $25

You want to get the Lite-On model out of a possible 4 types of Cendynes (others are Mitsumi, AOpen, and Verbatim). So on the back of the box, make sure the serial number starts with 21, like this scan of one: serial picture (http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~jw208/FW/CDRW/LTR-32123S.jpg)

I just asked the sales guy to go back and find one that started with 21, and he came back successful. As far as using the Staples coupon at OfficeMax, I printed out this blurb from OM's website:

I didn't know about the $15 coupon but I bought one today. It turns out to be a LiteOn 32x12x48 (LTR-32123S).

How do you price match it to Staples? In Staples the item is priced at 99.98 while OM has it for 79.99.
How do you bargan the $15 coupon?

Sorry -- that was a bit unclear about the pricematching. You don't actually pricematch the item... here's what you do

1. Print out that $15 off $75 coupon above from Staples
2. Drive to OM (I went to one in Cranberry Township, PA)
3. Ask the sales guy to get you one with serial starting with 21
4. Take the box up to the register
5. Hand them the Staples coupon and mention that you read on OM's website that they honor competitor's coupons
6. Hand them about $68 ($80 + tax - $15 coupon)
7. Take the drive and hop in your car
8. Fill out the $40 rebate
9. Get the rebate a few weeks later, and viola! about $28
